Dipankar Dey is an Indian movie actor who has appeared in many films, and his work is highly commendable and loved by the Indian audience. He was born on July 5, 1994 in a Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. He mostly works in the Bengali film industry. He never restricts to a single character and always do a role of every nature, be it a Hero, villain or a supporting actor. He has worked in many art shows and other commercial films. He has received appreciation for his work and the hard work he puts in. From the year 1971, he had many movies and served different characters that are to remember in the industry. His first involvement in the film was in 1971, in the movie “Seemabaddha”, where he played a role of Ganashatru.

His character received an excellent response from the critics during that time. In 1976, he did “Jana Aranya” directed by Satyajit Ray. The film was based on a novel of Mani Shankar Mukherjee. In 1980, he acted in “Bancharamer Bagan”, and everyone loved his efforts he had put while doing the performance of a character. Then from 1984-1991, he acted in three movies, and these were “Parama”, “Shakha Proshakha”, and “Agantuk”. He took a break from the industry and again from 2003 onwards he was back on a roll and was ready to mesmerize everyone with his acting. From 2003 to 2007, he performed in many films like “Kailashe Kelenkari”, “Mohonar Deeke”, and “Mayer Anchal”. He then appeared in “Hemlock Society” (2012), which was a Bengali dark comedy directed by Srijit Mukherji.

The name of the movie was taken from a society that is situated in the Santa Monica, USA. In 2013, he got a movie called “ Arjun” directred by Prem Prakash Modi. This Bengali film received an average rating from the critics, but the audience and critics genuinely liked his acting in the movie. From 2014- 2015, he did many movies and those were “Challenge 2”, “ Highway”, “ Youngistaan”, “Badshahi Angti”, “Sesh Anka”, “Agantuker Pore”, and “Har Har Byomkesh”. He never restricts himself to a particular genre. Instead, he tries to explore and enhance his acting skills in the best way possible. His efforts earned him nominations for many award shows. He won a Nation Film Award for the movie “Parama” for the Best-Supporting Actor.
