Mahipal Chand Bhandari is born on 24 November 1919. He is married to Akkal Kunwar. They have two children Nirmala Oswal and Sushila Jain. Mahipal is brought up in Rajasthan state, Jodhpur district in the year 1919. He completed his schooling in the same area. He graduated in literature studies from Jodhpur’s Jaswant Government College. In his final days, his wife was his confidante and aide.

Mahipal Singh’s career started in the year 1942 with him playing the protagonist of the film Nazrana. This picture is unknown to many as it sank at the box office. He got his big break with the feature film of fantasy genre Alibaba and 40 Thieves in the year 1954. He was later a part of the movies made in Arabian Nights series, which include Son of Ali Baba and Aladdin Aur Jadui Chirag, and Aladdin Ka Beta. He later moved towards making traditional mythical movies where he portrayed lead in Tulsidas (1954), Shree Krishna Bhakti (1955), Bajrang Bali (1956), and Pawan Putra Hanuman (1957). His best-known work Navrang hit the theaters on 18 September 1959. Mahipal traveled the world after his disappearance from the silver screen, as he did not like publicity. His performance in pictures like Jai Santoshi Maa and Gopal Krishna (1979) are memorable forever.
