Actor Nirmal Pandey was the first actor to play those flawless characters in those movies that were the place to find our prime anti-heroes. Actor Nirmal Pandey rose to stardom with his role in Shekhar Kapur's Bandit Queen. Later he had acted in films like award-winning Daayraa and his last film Lahore. His first film was 'Kedi' in the Telugu language.

The actor was a brilliant student in National School of Drama and moved to London where he concentrated in acting in stage and theater. His finest performance in a Bollywood movie was from film Daayraa(1996).

He had the rare privilege to play the role of a transvestite. He received the Valenti award (category best actors) in France for his role. The actor also was seen in award-winning film ‘Bandit Queen.' He played the role of Vikram Mallah, who assists Phoolan Devi in her mission. He played a negative character in the film and was appreciated very much. He also has acted in a Malayalam movie.

He was not keeping well for many days. He was 47 when he passed away due to cardiac arrest. He breathed his last in Mumbai’s Holy Spirit Hospital. He was married twice in his life. He was survived by his wife and two children. He was born on August 10, 1962. He has established an acting institute, "Fresh Talent Academy," in Ghaziabad. His career was very much short lived.
