Prabhjot maintained his school curriculum as well as shot for the film. He took birth in Mumbai, Maharashtra.

He belongs to a Sikh family. His mother is a housewife while his father is a businessman. He went to Mumbai University for schooling; however, he had fever interest in studies. He is from commerce background and always liked acting. In late 2015, an acquaintance informed him about a role in a movie for a Sikh boy. In 2016, he auditioned for the character Balli in Udta Punjab.

He got selected and began the shoot. Udta Punjab faced some issues with the Censor Board for its vulgar language; however, it got released on 17th June 2016. The movie dealt with the issue of drug trafficking and addiction. Prabhjot played Balli, brother of Sartaj Singh (Diljit Dosanjh). Balli is a drug addict while Sartaj is a police officer. Sartaj admits Balli in Preet’s (Kareena Kapoor) clinic.

In the meantime, he is also investigating the drug trafficking problem in Punjab. The intense story has no happy endings for Balli; he is unable to control, and accidentally stabs Preet. Prabhjot’s short role got critical appreciation. His debut acting made an impact on the audience, and he became popular among the Indian youth.

Prabhjot later admitted that it was difficult for him to act for the first time in such an intense role. Udta Punjab won several awards; it received four Filmfare awards and also got a National Award. In 2017, Prabhjot became a part of a short movie named Toffee. Directed by Ayushmaan Khurana's wife Tahira Kashyap, it got critically acclaimed.
