C. Barua, and others. Adib is best recognized for his performance as Ram in Bharat Milap in the year 1942. Prem Adib grew famous after playing Rama in the movie Bharat Milap in 1942 and Ram Rajya in the year 1946. These movies comprised Indian traditional values. Prem Adib and Shobhana Samarth had represented the ideal Rama and Sita.

Adib and Samarth extended their pairing as Rama and Sita, playing together in another Ramayana based film Rambaan in 1948. They became famous enough to have them following the Gods in programs of that era. Ram Rajya in 1946 also had the characteristic of doing the only movie that was recognized by Mahatma Gandhi. Prem Narayan was born to a Kashmiri Brahmin family in the year 1917.

His father Shri Pandit Ram Prasad was a lawyer by occupation. The name Adib meant Vidhwan or Learned had been bestowed on the family by Wajid Ali Shah. The family held on Adib as their surname. Adib was entangled in a controversy when a secondary actress acting through her father, registered a claim on him for breach of promise compared to work. The case grew known in the legal literature as Raj Rani V/S Prem Adib. Prem Adib as the defense won, as the case was abandoned due the girl's adolescence, and also as of which she could not get her father to sign on her side.
