Saif Ali Khan is a film celebrity born to actress
Sharmila Tagore and cricketer '
Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi'. He has two sisters, Soba, and Soha. Soha is a well-known actress in Hindi cinema. He was born in
New Delhi on August 16, 1970. This actor made his debut with director Yash Chopra’s film Parampara, but the film did not do well in box office. He then acted with Akshay and Kajol in
Yeh Dillagi, which majored him.
After this movie success, he got many offers as leading hero but all films failed to create any magic in the box-office. Only his mule-starter films fared well in box-office such as
Kachche Dhaage (1999), Hum Saath Hain (1999). He had one solo hits with
Preity Zinta (
Kya Kehna). Saif got his best performance role for
Hum Tum, which was his first Yash Chopra’s film opposite Rani Mukherjee. Soon he had four releases such as Parineeta,
Salaam Namaste, Omkara and an English language film Being Cyrus.
His performance in Omkara was a negative character while in Parineeta he played the role of a good husband. Saif and his mother together appeared in a film’ Eklavya: The Royal Guard (2007)’ which was also a successful film and was an official entry to Oscar. In 2009, Saif launched his production house, Illuminati Films, along with
Dinesh Vijan. The company made some successful films such as
Love Aaj Kal, Badalpur,
Go Goa Gone,
Happy Ending, etc. Saif was recently seen in the movies such as Phantom and Happy Ending.
As Saif was born in Royal family, he spent his college days at Winchester College(UK). He got married to
Amrita Singh in 1991 and fetched some roles in few films as she was an established star then. The couple had a son Ibrahim, and a daughter,
Sara Ali Khan. The couple had divorced in 2004, and now Saif has tied the knot with Kareena Kapoor. Saif and Kareena had acted together in many films.
