Bhumicka Singh is from Mumbai and had her schooling and college in the same place.  Always, there had been an inherent desire in Bhumicka Singh to become an actress. Many of her family members have a cinema background. Her family motivated her to learn in Kishore Namit Kapoor’s school of acting.

She got chiseled as an actress and B.S. Thapa, an assistant director taught her the nuances of cinema.  Bhumicka is happy to be from a family of cinema artists. Also, many people know her because of her father’s popularity in the cine field. She has said that she got her first movie chance through efforts that she put in. Very since childhood, Bhumicka was barred from taking part in movie parties. 

But, Bhumicka loves movies, and that proved one major reason for her entry into the cine field. Her debut was through Dharmesh Darshan's movie. Bhumicka said she least anticipated such a chance. Bhumicka Singh’s father Hari Singh works for actress Aishwarya Rai as the manager. 

Director Dharmesh Darshan came across Bhumicka in one of the traffic signals in Mumbai and made out that she is Hari Singh’s daughter. Both of them discussed for a while, and very soon Bhumicka got a chance to do his movie. She came to the attention of the cine world for her performance in the Hindi movie Aap Ki Khatir (2006) Bhumicka had a boost in her cinema career as movie chances poured in even before her first movie hit screens. 

Bhumicka is always very selective about the roles that she does. She has won a unique name for herself in the film industry. Bhumicka got offers to do many commercial advertisements and also had a few chances. But, her priority is for Hindi movies, and she once commented she even discarded movie chances from the South taking into account the Hindi movie offers that she received.
