Pragathi Yadhati

Pragathi Yadhati was born in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, India. She pursued her education in Hyderabad and after graduating in Engineering, she left for US to study acting. Her role in “A Baggage Claim” is well acclaimed where she shared the stage with Broadway and Disney stars. She is studying theater and film art at Lee Strasberg Theater and film Institute. She is best known for her role in “Sillage”(2010),”Ooops a Desi”(2013) and “Super capitalist”(2012). She worked in a Hindi feature film called “Iraade Maum Ke” and appeared in a few commercials for ‘Bud Lite Beer And Shahjalal Basmati rice’. Pragathi Yadhati has carved out a niche for herself in the world of theater in New York ever since she landed on the shores of America in 2009.

Pragathi is a model, playwright, and poet. Pragathi's father, Yadhati Kasipathy, was a revolutionary thinker, orator, writer, poet, and journalist who had worked hundreds of hours with none other than the famous Srirangam Srinivasarao. Her mother's name is Pushparatha. From her childhood, she had a fond interest in learning Bharata Natyam, which was encouraged by her parents. Pragathi had learned Kathak from Kathak expert Pandit Anju Babu and Arangetram when she was only 16 years old. Pragati studied at the Lee Strasberg School of Art and Film for two years. She debuted in the film industry with “Oops a Desi”, which premiered in Times Square, New York, and also starred in the action film Iraade Maum Ke. Her roles in both films received criticism for bad acting, bad direction, and bland story. Pragathi has also performed in many theaters, including the Classic Shakespeare Theater in NYC. She has starred in Hyper Capitalism, which premiered at the Asian-American International Film Festival. She got her first lead role in the real-life movie The Ring, a movie that was very well-received and brought fame to our young actress.
