Tapas Paul is a Bengali actor from Kolkata and who is also an active member of parliament. He made his first appearance in Dadar Kirti in 1980; he also received a Filmfare award for the movie Sahib in 1981.

He is a member of All India Trinamool Congress. He is now the MP of Krishnanagar since 2009. Her mother Nandini Paul is a popular anchor in cookery shows and at present a participant of Big Boss Bangla. During her early life, she was a student in commerce from Lakshmipat Singhania Academy, where she completed her XII in 2004.
