Soumitra Lahiri is one high esteemed sitarist. Lahiri, at a very tender age, decided to take up the profession as a sitarist. He is very well-trained with the Ragas. His innovation of tradition and fusion songs brought him into much popularity. His inspirations were his parents, Sangeetacharya, Late Susanta Lahiri and, Late Rekha Lahiri. At the age of seven, he started taking training under Late Pandit Gokul Nag. After long years of practice, he decided to begin his journey across the world. He is also known for playing guitar and has played in All India Radio and abroad. A foundation is also named after him as Pandit Soumitra Lahiri Memorial Foundation.
