Sawan Dutta is a versatile Mumbai based personality from India. She is a multi-talented person with qualities of Music composing, song writing, music direction, record production, Vocalist and Vlogger. She is prominent Blogger of original music videos, popularly known as, The Metronome. Dutta, born in the capital of India, New Delhi. She received early passion for music and started learning Harmonium at the age of three. She is a self-taught Hawaiian Guitar and even worked at All India Radio Company as a regular paid performer after the successful audition. Post her high school, Sawan attended School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi, India, in order to train in architect. In her college years, Sanam was a part of a music band called, Architypes. She was the only girl to be a part of musical band in her college days. Dutta has composed music for over 200 TV shows. Her most popular TV scores include the soundtracks for the television show of Indian adaptations "Who wants to be a Millionaire" known as "Kaun Banega Crorepati" in Hindi and "Ningalkkum Aakaam Kodeeshwaran" in Malayalam. Few of her well known work on Television includes themes for: Mastermind India, India's Child Genius, Bhanwar, The History of Whatever. She also created Cartoon series ‘Jungle Tales’ which was successful in grabbing the National Award. Sawan configured songs for Bollywood movies too, Chai Pani etc. and Mumbai Delhi Mumbai, to name a few. Other several creations include the music for documentary film like, ‘Underground Inferno’ for The National Geographic and for the Public Broadcasting Service Trust, ‘Autumn in the Himalayas’.

She has worked with other efficient music labels likes Saregama. Her solo debut album was named, Lady Chatterjee. She was a music producer with the Sarod Maestro, Amjad Ali khan along with his sons, Amaan and Ayaan Ali Khan, the flute player Ajay Prasanna, and Vidya Shah, the vocalist. Sawan Dutta received a theatrical award of the Mahindra Excellence for the soundtrack of the puppeteer Dadi Pudumjee's theatrical production, ‘Transpositions’ in 2008. Sawan handles her Youtube music channel where she composes her own written songs. Her songs reflect her Bengali background which has helped her attain a lot of global attention. She is supported by C.B. Arun kumar, her husband, who is also supposed to be a filmmaker. Her songs are blend of hybrids of pop, jazz, western and Indian classical and electrica. Few of her excellent piece include, An Ode to Boroline, Macher Jhol, Kosha Mangsho, and many more.
