They reprised their respective roles from their movies, and Soha Ali Khan and Irrfan Khan were two more added characters for the 2013 version. After seven months of st shooting for the film in Gujarat, the film was completed in October 2012, and it had a budget of Rs 70 million.

The film was released on 8 March 2013. It was a theatrically indulgent entertainer, and all the characters of the movie had done commendable performances too. The film grossed Rs 213 million in the domestic market. Reports suggest after two successful films, the director and the producers were planning a third d installment of this series.
