Sandiip Kapur

Sandip Kapur is an Indian-origin producer. He was born in Kakinada, India. But he lives in Vienna. Sandip was born and raised in Delhi, India. Growing up, he was an enormous film enthusiast. He did his graduation from Delhi University. And went to the same school as Shahrukh Khan. For his further studies, he went to Germany, and from there, he moved to the USA. He shot many short films while he was there in college. He attended several acting and filmmaking workshops and was a guest listener in Michael Haneke’s class at the Film Academy in Vienna. He is not a director who only focuses on fictional stories. He always had an insight that the real stories are so engaging that documenting it would be more fun. And so he has created some exceptional documentaries on exciting real-life stories. He always made films and documentaries that combined Indian and Austrian cultures.

He was also given credit for introducing a new genre to the Hindi film Industry: Austro-Bollywood. In 2010, he debuted in the industry with his first Austro-Indian film Kesariya Balam. The film did a great job at the box office, and he received several awards, including Best Director and Best Film. In 2014, he released his second film Servus Ishq. His movie was released nationwide in India and Australia. The Oscar-winning producer Joseph Aichholzer produced the movie. Kumar is also a great actor. And in both of his films, he played the lead actor. Sandip is also a writer and makes feature films and documentaries in different genres. He was a theatre enthusiast from a young age. And he discovered his passion for movies and acting through theatres in India. He also had an opportunity in the school to share the stage with the King, Shahrukh Khan. Sandip Kumar has contributed significantly to Indian Cinema and Austrian Cinema. He is in a respected position in the Australian Film Academy and the Association of Austrian Directors. He was also very successful as a producer and has produced films like Mehrunisa, Another Day in Manhattan, Ohne Bekenntnis, Matching Champions, Games Of Strange, Servus Ishq, Kesariya Balam, etc.
