Vinay Shukla

A well-known name in the field of writing, direction is the producer of the film ‘Godmother’,yes, he is Vinay Shukla, whose films are distinctly different from others not only for the success at the box-office but also for garnering critical acclaim and prestigious awards .He was associated with this performing art when he was 9 years old and began participating in radio plays at ‘Akashwani’, Jaipur. This creative passion of Vinay led him into the theatre, during his college, university days. He found the most powerful medium to express his views and talents and that is Cinema.

His famous movies are ’Ship of Theseus’, in which he had acted and for the story and direction of his film ‘Mirch’ he is famous. Again in the movie ‘Maqbool’ he had acted too. But his film ‘Godmother’ had given him the honor to receive National Award. He went to Pune Film and Television Institute for the training of Film and Television acting, direction and for everything to flourish in this line. He had became a known and active scriptwriter and director of Hindi films over the last forty years. The high quality training and exposure at the institute had set the ground of Vinay, and as a result, his interest was not limited to, film making only, rather he developed the unique and vibrant narrative form which he had used in his films.

From Pune Film Institute he came out with flying colors. He passed out with Gold Medal and without wasting any time he plunged his step in film making and script writing. His passion is to change the style of the story construction, screenplay format, or dialogue construction as we have seen in Satyamev Jayate, Ram Jaane, or in Virasat. He believes that Bollywood movies are the best entertaining forms that can deal with serious issues and themes to be tackled in the screenplay.
