Bhavani Iyer is a Television and Bollywood screenplay writer. She was also a journalist before she started her scriptwriting career. Bhavani is a science graduate and began her career in advertising. While she was into journalism, she worked as an editor for a film magazine called 'Stardust.' Her grandfather was a poet; he wrote Tamil poetries, and this inspired Bhavani to opt writing as a profession. She is currently working on her upcoming novel and its name is 'Anon.' She loves playing with words. She worked as a Copywriter in an advertising agency before an editor of the magazine.

She completed her schooling from Elite School of Optometry and went to Michigan College of Optometry. Tamil, Hindi, and Malayalam are her known languages and accents. She lives in Mumbai with her alleged boyfriend and three dogs and is basically from Chennai, India. When she was 10 years old, every Sunday her father used to give her writing assignments. These compositions included short stories, poetries, plays, etc. She loves the world of expressions; she enjoys the game of words and her love towards her work sets an example for the young generation. According to Bhavani, she is very lucky to get such opportunities since young age. Bhansali has always believed in her and entrusted herwith his biggest films by lending the great responsibility of scripting dialogues and stories. Bhavani and Bhansali hold immense respect for each other.

She has also written a love story for Revathy, which will be out very soon. In an interview, Iyer says, the best work is when you are oblivious to yourself or the world outside or even the writing itself, when your writing and you are so unified that the world cannot but feel the same connection to the writing. She is a fabulous screenwriter and this has been proved by her in the past years. Screenwriting is not considered a craft in Hindi cinema; very often the writer’s opinion is stifled. But Bhavani is one of the polished and masterly scriptwriters in the industry. She sets inspiration and motivates women to achieve success in their respective fields.
