Marathi Singer Avadhoot Gupte

Avadhoot Gupte is a Maharashtrian, who juggles more than one talent. This versatile person is a Singer, Musician, Director, Producer, Anchor and the list goes on. Avadhoot was born and brought up in Mumbai. He is predominantly a music composer. Gupte made his first music album called as Paus in Marathi, which was released by the label Sagarika Music. The album was received well, and it fetched Gupte, the Best Composer Award, at The Alpha Gaurav Puraskar, in the year 2002. Avadhoot participated in the Music competition Saregama, organized by TVS. He won the championship, and this fame scaled up his career to a great height. After this success, he started singing and making music for several Marathi and Hindi movies. As an independent singer, he made the album Meri Madhubala, in Marathi, in the year 2003.

The record was a huge hit, and it had memorable songs like ‘Bai Bai Man Moracha kasa pisara fulala’. The rising popularity of Avadhoot made him the judge of the reality show, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa little champions that were aired on Zee Marathi Television. He was a unique judge and the way he commented the participants was very different. He was very careful that his remarks should not be rude and should not discourage the little participants.

Instead, Avadhoot used his humor sense and gave very funny comments in the show. Avadhoot continued to be a part of Television shows. His next job was like a show presenter in Zee Television. He hosted the show Khupte Tithe Gupte, a chat show, that involved the presence of two renowned celebrities as a guest. In the show, Avadhoot discussed the things that disturbed the guests. The show was successful and had two seasons, first season in 2010 and the second one in 2012. Avadhoot had a passion for the silver screen, and this interest made him Direct and Produce the movie, Zenda in the year 2010. He also wrote the screenplay and made music for the film. The movie was about politics and hence faced many obstacles before its release, by the son of the then Maharashtra Revenue Minister. He was very determined and directed and produced his second movie, titled Morya, in the year 2011. The movie was about the inter-caste rivals in Bombay. The flick was critically acclaimed and received a good response. Few other movies to his credit are Ek Tara and Jai Maharashtra Dhaba, Bhatinda. Avadhoot got married to Girija Gupte and now he resides in Bhor, Maharashtra.
