Anas Edathodika

Once while he was playing in an inter-collegiate game, he was spotted by former India International Feroz Sherif. After this, he invited Anas to attend I-League 2nd Division Trials in Mumbai. He completed his trials and signed a contract of one year of the club. Edathodika leads the club to promote I-League. After the promotion, he had a contract of three years of the club. Edathodika was groomed under Daye Booth as a defender which led him to his carrier life. On 23rd July 2011, he joined the rival team Pune F.C. of Mumbai for a two-year contract. When Edathodika signed the contract, Chirag Tanna, Head of Operations, Pune said they have been tracking Anas’s playing progress since the last two years and are glad that he has signed a two-year contract with them.

" In 2012-2013, Edathodika was hit by malaria which made him leave Pune's three seasons. But on 2nd August 2012, it was reported that Edathodika is now fit and can attend the Pune's pre-season training. After this comeback, Anas lead to a successful career which he started by playing all the 26 matches, helping the Pune defence to have 26 goals that season. He won the title of Pune Football Club Player of the Year in 2012-2013. He was the first Indian Defender to win the biggest award of the club. He became the club captain in the 2013-2014 season. On 21 September 2013, he played against Mohammedan at the Salt Lake Stadium the first League match of the season. They won this match by 3-1. He has never worn the captain's armband ever, and it is the first time in his playing career. He is extremely thankful to everyone for this opportunity." He also told that initially, the coach told him that he was taking a risk by taking him in the playing eleven, but when the coach announced that he was going to lead the side he got the confidence he needed. He also thanked the coach for helping him believe in himself. Edathodika, on 18 November 2017 played his debut for the club during the first ever match against North-East United. He was the first player in Jamshedpur history who was selected in the first round of 2017-2018 ISL Players Draft by Jamshedpur for Indian Super League Season.
