Pesi Shroff is a champion Jockey player of India. He is very tall, little heavy-weight and a lazy person, but he is not known for this, he is known for his special skills in Jockey. He has won more than 14 major horse racing and has ruled Indian Derby in late 80’s and early 90’s. He has ridden more than 1740 winning horses which comprise of 106 Classics horses. He has been a revolution in Indian horse racing. His preferred horses were Desert Warrior and Exhilaration. His family background was not so Jockey type as he belonged to upper-middle-class Parsi family who already had a victim in horse racing, his cousin Karl Umrigar was killed after a fall on the race track. Pesi entered wedlock his childhood friend Tina and had two children. He has a daughter named as Anya, who herself is very fond of horses. After the death of his father, he took over the family engineering and ship maintenance business. He holds the record of eight Derby winners at Mahalaxmi Racecourse, Mumbai. He retired on 31st October 2004 from professional racing. He is a fan of golf and cricket. Now he is turned into a professional trainer and trains beginners in Indian Racing Circuit. He was the trainer of Filly Jacqueline, who won the 2010 Derby. He first won his major race in 1984 and last won in 2001 Indian Turf Invitation with Storm Again. He is acclaimed as one among the greatest jockeys in India and will always be remembered for his charismatic conduct on the race course as he ruled in his hay days.
