With notable works including TV shows like ‘ Farmaan’, ‘Tashan-E-Ishq’, & recent blockbusters such as ‘ Fan’, this Indian television & film actress has proven to Indian cinema that she indeed is a force worth reckoning with. Born in a family of Sahitya Academy award winners & true pioneers of English as well as Maratha literature, her father was a marshal belonging to the Indian Navy, while her mother was a Kathak dancer. Brought up in Delhi, this Marathi actress’s alma mater include Loreto Convent & Lady Sriram College of Commerce, where she pursued her honors in the field of Economics.

Having acted along with A- listers in films like ‘Ranjhanaa’, ‘Bewakoofiyan’, ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya’, this cinematic stalwart got her first break in Gul Anand’s & Lekh Tandon’s 1994 series ‘Farmaan’, where she was cast in a leading role. Since then, it’s been an upward climb for this highly talented actress. After her tenure with ‘Farmaan’ was over, Amin tried out in other TV shows like ‘ Junoon’ & ‘Malabar Hill’ in 1996 & 1997. Abundant in characterization & having the knack of portraying a wide variety of roles, her good luck continued to run in these two shows as well, with film directors showering heavy praise for Bollywood’s fresh & young face.

Her latest role was in ‘Tashan-E-Ishq’, in 2015, a role which was in contrast to the ones she’d played earlier, with audiences noticing an ocean of maturity showcased in her acting. With the 2014 series ‘ Siyaasat’, Amin was cast as Ruqaiya, one of Akbar’s wives, but was unable to strike a chord with the audience which led to the story falling flat & the show being shut down soon after. Her success on the small screen propelled her to stardom, prompting roles in high budget & quality films like ‘ Rough Book’ (2016), ‘Fan’ (2016), ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya’ (2014), ‘Bewakoofiyan’ (2014), ‘Ranjhanaa’ (2013) & ‘ Well Done Abba’ (2011).

Her career witnessed a new high when esteemed director Barry John of the ‘Theatre Action Group’ noticed her raw & inherent talent, & decided to hone it in order to produce an entertainer of pure class. With co-stars like Shah Rukh Khan & Manoj Bajpayee, it wasn’t long before people of the industry began to recognize this gem of a performer. With her level of acting improving every day, she moved to ‘The Prime Time Theater Company’, starring in plays directed by Lilette Dubey.
