Later, his character as Om was killed in the serial. Afterwards, there has been some changes in the script and he was once again received an offer to do the same role. 
Kiran was born on January 1, 1958 and he was married to actress, Rinku Dhawan Karmarkar, his co-star in Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii. Later, he appeared on television shows and played various roles. In 2006, he was starred in television show Saarathi as a business tycoon. Then he was bagged to do the negative role of Tej Baldev Singh Bundela in Uttaran that was aired on Colors TV. In 2013, Kiran was nominated in the Indian Telly Jury Award for Best Actor in a Negative Role for his performance in Uttaran. He also essayed small roles in some of Bollywood films. 
Besides the big and small screens, Kiran also worked in some Marathi films and stage plays. He also prefers to perform on theatres, so when he is not doing any television shows, he goes out of the country together with his theatre group to perform.
