Manoj Mishra is an Indian television and film actor. He has acted in Hindi television serials as well as Odisha films. He has studied in and graduated from the National School of Drama and Film. He has also done studies in the Television Institute of India. He is from Sambalpur.
The actor had worked for years and gotten numerous small and minor roles in Bollywood movies such as ‘
Mission Kashmir’ and ‘The Warrior’. He regards himself as similar to the legendary Indian actor
Nana Patekar, and says that he would like to act in movies that are close to what Nana Patekar acted in.
His first and major role in a television serial came in Star Plus’ ‘
Behenein’. In this serial, he played the role of a villain and the main antagonist for a period of time. He plays as Shamaldas, who is not a hardcore criminal but has been molded by his experiences and by society into the type of person he becomes. He received much praise for his portrayal of the character, and was even nominated for the ’Naya Strong Sadasya Award’ (new strong member award) in the Star Parivaar awards.
After the conclusion of his role in ‘Behenein’, he moved back to his hometown’s film industry and has featured in several Odia movies.
