Qavi Khan aka Mohammad Qavi Khan is a Pakistani movies and TV star, a radio artist and director as well. He was born on 13 Nov, 1932 in Lahore, Pakistan. He married in year 1968 and has four children all settled abroad but he didn’t leave his motherland. He started his career in 1960s at the age of five from Radio Pakistan and then after getting fame he shifted to PTC. He was one of the primary actors of PTV. He started his film actor journey in 1965 and has been part of 200 films. He did remarkable roles in movies such as Durr-e-Shehwar based on husband wife relationships and FBI Operation Pakistan based on military released in 1971.

He has been a star theatre artist and worked on stage successfully for more than 35 years. He retired from movies and did work in Television plays such as Mannchalay a comedy TV drama serial that showed generation gap in a fun way, Mutthi Bhar Mitti based on a person’s life describing events that led him to leave India and migrate to Pakistan after partition, Phir Chand Pe Dastak a comedy TV drama, Zindagi Dhoop Tum Ghana Saya telecasted on ARY Digital based on life of a young widow in society, Meray Qatil Meray Dildar on life of a girl that does love marriage but faces issues her in-laws house, Dastaan based on life of a girl Bano is a serial based on India’s partition and is a popular serial in Pakistan and had been aired in India as well under name Waqt Ne Kiya Kya Haseen Sitam. The plays he did were mixed with emotions, comedy and heart touching with message to the society that made audiences to think again about life and society.

He offered a deep insight to his own life in a one man play entitled Action and Reaction at auditorium of Pakistan National Council of Arts. In this play he played himself and let the audiences experience live the journey of his life from a child radio artist to a veteran legendary actor. The play showed his passion and respect of acting and left a deep impact on the audience that experienced it live. Throughout his journey he has got much recognition and awards like Sitara-i-Imtiaz by Pakistan Government, Lifetime Achievement Award, Pride of Performance award, PTV best actor award, Radio Pakistan Lifetime Achievement award and many more. He is a legend and will always be an inspiration to the youth and upcoming talent.
