Multi-talented Pakistani actor, Rahat Kazmi born in Simla, East Punjab, British India, has been a popular figure in the entertainment business as a television actor, talk show anchor, and a professional speaker. After completing his high school education in Rawalpindi, he pursued an MA in Political Science from Government College, MA in English Literature from Punjab University and LLB degree from Lahore. He was also successful in obtaining the post of an Information Officer in the Pakistan Civil Services in 1968, which after eight years he resigned to begin his career in the television business.

In 1967, Rahat took part in a Rawalpindi television quiz show known as Mayaar. His first modulated performance was in the television play Goonge. His acting prowess can also be witnessed in films such as Aajaurkal, Insaniyat, and Mehmaan among others. Later in the 1970' s, he was seen hosting his talk-show from Pakistan Television called “Rahat Kazmi Show.” Currently Rahat Kazmi, an academician, works at L’ecole for Advanced Studies (LAS) in Karachi as an administrative director. He also imparts his knowledge of English Literature and Drama as a Teacher to A Level students at LAS. He is also an IDJIT director at the National Academy of Performing Arts (NAPA) and has previously taught at Avicenna School and Hamdard University (Clifton Campus, Karachi) in 2001.
