Bharti Kumar was born on 26th January in New Delhi and currently she resides in Mumbai, Maharashtra. She had shown affinity towards acting and dancing ever since her earliest childhood days. Always energetic and proactive, she participated in various school activities and won numerous awards and prizes. Bharti was active in sports as well, mostly baseball, swimming, martial arts and yoga. She took dancing lessons in different dance styles like Contemporary, Jazz, Kathak, Bharatnatyam and similar.

Bharti Kumar was first seen on the television show Ishaan, featured on the Disney Channel, where she performed the role of Twinkle. Her next professional engagement was the role of Maloni in the TV Series Humse Hai Liife broadcast on Channel V India. The producers noticed this talented young actress and dancer and soon after that she was engaged in the television series called The Buddy Project broadcast on Channel V India as well, and in this series she plays the role of Kiya. This role has skyrocketed her popularity, and the television audience recognize her by the name Kiya rather than Bharti. She is currently working as a model and in the television series The Buddy Project, and anticipating to participate in the popular dance show .
