Intro: After gaining initial success at Hindi TV programs at early age, she is now reigning Bengali television industry as a writer and creative producer. Nilanjana Sharma Sengupta is one of those lucky charms who gained stardom at the very beginning of their adult life. She appeared as an emerging TV star when she played the role of Mona the head girl in the school drama Hip Hip Hurray. Her mother Anjana Bhowmik was a successful Bengali movie star but this bubbly girl enjoyed success with her TV debut. was the producer of this TV serial that proved to be one of the most successful serial of Indian Television market. The storyline of this serial involved the lives of 12th grade student and since Nilanjana was still a growing kid at that time, she got the opportunity to play a lead role in this serial along with many other star kids including , , and Shweta Salve.

After her initial success as TV actress, she also appeared in a few episodes of another hit TV serial Rishtey The Love Stories. She also worked as a lead actress for TV series and Lekin Woh Sach Tha which was aired on Doordarshan National Network. However, she chose to work for Bengali film industry and debuted in lead role for the film Swapner Feriwala in the year 2003. She won the BF JA-Most Promising Actress Award for this movie. In the year 2004, she got married to popular Bengali actor Jishu Sengupta. She again enjoyed success as lead actress in the Bengali movie Teen Ekke Teen in the year 2006 and in the movie Aamra in the year 2007. Currently she is working as the producer, screenplay writer, and creative director of a popular Bengali TV serial .
