Sonal Vengurlekar is an Indian model turned television actress. She was born on June 12, 1993 at Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. She studied at Mumbai University and pursued a degree in Bachelor of Arts. But when she’s about to finish her degree, she left school to pursue her acting career. Initially, she did small roles and sometimes appeared in cameo roles. Sonal then juggled her career and studies at the same time.

Sonal appeared in the Season 2 of the teen sitcom, The Buddy Project which was aired on Channel V India. She essayed the role of Rukmini Sharma who has some difficulties in college since she doesn’t know how to speak in English. Sonal also made an appearance in the horror fiction show, Haunted Nights on Sahara One. She did 5 episodes entitled, Honour Killing from December 24 to December 28, 2012. She also made small appearances in television series like , Rab Se Sohna Isshq and Bade Achhe Lagte Hain. Sonal was also seen in the crime television series, Crime Patrol on Sony TV. She also did an episodic in the Hindi crime show, – India Fights Back. The actress also joined the Season 4 of the reality show, Emotional Atyachar on Bindass, which was adapted from the US based show, Cheaters.

Sonal was also part of the popular dance-based fiction show, Dil Dostii Dance on Channel V India. She donned a negative role as Ruhi who will fall in love with Swayam (played by ) after the latter saved him from getting ragged. Her character as Ruhi gave Sharon Prakash (played by ) a difficult time as she tries to keep Swayam away from her. Sonal got her fame for portraying her character in the serial perfectly.

Recently, she has been finalized to bag the role of Devyani Shastri, one of the female lead in the drama series, on Colors TV. The show revolves around the life of four sisters, Alka (played by ), Peeya (played by ), Anushka (played by ) and Devyani as they travel from Kanpur to New Delhi together with their dreams and ambitions. Devyani is the third among the four siblings, who is very bubbly, joyful and free-spirited.

Sonal’s real-life boyfriend is who plays Piddi in the show, The Buddy Project. The two met and bonded while on the set. At first, they hated each other but subsequently, they realized that they have similarities in life. They shared their problems with each other and bonded together until love grew strong. Sonal idolizes the popular, Kareena Kapoor.
