Roby Raj

Roby Raj works in the editorial department of filmmaking, where he traces the development of the visual language and examines the unique devices like computer graphics, animation, etc.  can be used or not. He also concentrates on the powerful combination of the close-up shot and analyzes the effects and techniques. Roby Raj also understands the camera setups and photographic techniques, as well as editing techniques such as cross-cutting and montages.

So far, Roby Raj has worked in 36 films. His first project was for Kaizad Gustad’s movie 'Bombil & Beatrice' which was showcased at the Cannes Film festival. The film was a commercial success starring Rani Mukherjee and Saif Ali Khan.

In the year, Roby Raj had handled ten projects and many of them had been hit at the box office. But the most notable among them all is 'Welcome', 'Jab We Met', 'Saawariya’, 'Apne’ and ‘Partner’.

Remember the film, ‘Saawariya’ this film showed that it had an imaginary town with lakes, streets, clock tower, etc. The beautiful sets in the movie and blue tone of the entire film was really worth watching and it needed someone like Omung Kumar to set the film design. After the film was extensively shot, editing and visual effect design also played an important aspect to take the film to a next level. Or do we all remember the embarrassing miniature train and car shot in Jab We Met?

In 2008, films like Hello, Race, Agent Crush, Halla Bol and Love Story 2050 were released and visual effects were responsible for enthralling the audiences.

In the year 2010, ‘Ramayana: The Epic’, was produced by Ketan Mehta. The film was an animated movie from Maya Digital media. The film was released by Warner Brothers. Roby Raj has worked as visual effects supervision for few TV series and they are ‘Ekaant' and 'Garo the Animation'.
