Agha Shahid Ali is an Indo-American Poet. Shahid was born on the 4th of February in the year 1949. He was born in New Delhi, India. Their family was from Kashmir. He grew up in Kashmir until their family left for the United States in 1976. His father’s name is Agha Ashraf Ali. He has a brother and two sisters. His brother’s name is Agha Iqbal Ali.
His sister’s names are Hena Ahmed and Sameetah Agha. He had his schooling from Burn Hall School in Srinagar, Kashmir. He went to the University of Kashmir and the University of Delhi. He got his Ph.D. From Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Arizona.
