Girideva Raaj also known as Giridev Hassan is a director and writer from India. He was born on December 27, 1989, in Hassan, a District of Karnataka,India. He directed the blockbuster movie The Y, a Hindi psychological horror film that was released on January 6th, 2023. The Y completed a successful 50-day run in Cinépolis theatres. Giridev has contributed to both the Kannada (sandalwood) and Hindi (Bollywood) film industries. Girideva's previous film, "Zero Made in India," was released in theatres in 2016.
Zero Made in India (2016), his directorial debut, was officially selected at various International film festivals and received positive feedback from both audiences and critics. Due to the popularity of his previous film, he gained the attention of Bollywood producers and made his Bollywood directorial debut. His Hindi debut film Y was released in 2022 in Marathi under Rocket Films with Karthik Mallur, who is in charge of the camera, and Vinod Basavaraj, who contributed as the editor. Christopher Lee participated in composing the film's background score, and Maru Brother composed the song.
