Sangeetha Bhat, a gorgeous and brilliant actress, was born and brought up in Bangalore. Her roots trace back to the Kasaragod district in Kerala, 50 kms south of Mangalore. Sangeetha has been aspiring to become an actress from the age of 16. She loves all forms of arts and dance, and music has been her passion from an early age. Both her parents have supported her and motivated her to appreciate art and culture.
She started her career by acting in an offbeat art movie called Mannina Madilu. In this, she starred against a senior actor, ‘Balraj’. She then took part in the making of a video album called Saniha. To further her career, she then acted in several advertisements and did modeling gigs.
Working in a Tamil movie called ‘
Doo’, was her first experience in Kollywood. This was Sriram Padmanabhan's first attempt at directing. After this, she decided to improve her talent as an actor and start working in serials. "Artists can improve their skills by a drastic measure by working in serials", says Sangeetha. "There are many emotions and expressions to portray."
She was intent upon flourishing her career and bettering her skills. Therefore, she started working in a television serial called ‘
Bhagyavantharu’, directed by S. Govind. She soon became a star in the world of family television entertainment. She became recognized all over Karnataka.
Her first big break in the film industry was when she got chosen for a role in the movie,
Preethi Geethi Ityaadi. She enacted the role of a middle-class college going girl. The film, directed by Veerendra, was released in 2014. She starred against director-turned-actor, Pawan Wadeyar.
However, her actual debut movie was
Mamu Tea Angadi, directed by Paramesh A. In this super hit movie, Sangeetha enacted the role of a traditional Brahmin girl. This film released only after the second movie she worked in (Preethi Geethi Ityaadi), due to some technical issues. After taking a big leap from the small screen to the big, this promising actress has never looked back. Her latest movie, ‘
Kismat’, releases in 2016, and is directed by Vijay Raghavendra.
In her childhood, she loved visiting her hometown. She especially enjoyed hanging out and playing cricket with her many cousins. Her prime source of inspiration is her mother. She, as a child, played a role in Dr. Rajkumar's movie, Mooruvare Vajragalu. Her mother’s family was orthodox, therefore they did not wish to see her pursue a career in acting. Hence, she had to quit. Her mother hopes to fulfill her dreams through her.
Sangeetha is currently in a relationship with the engineer- turned actor, Sudarshan Rangaprasad. They met on the sets of Preethi Geethi Ityaadi.
