Chaitra H G was born on June 18, 1984 in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. Chaitra’s father 'H S Gopinath' is an eminent tabla player and Indian Classical singer. Chaitra H G is a well-known playback singer and has provided vocals to over 500 songs in different languages like Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Tamil. She attended Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering, Bangalore where she pursued her graduate studies in Information Science and Engineering.

She is also proficient in gymnastics and Olympic fencing. Chaitra also participated in state level championships and has won gold medals in state level championship in both the sports. She was the state level winner for three consecutive years. When she was eight years old, she was given a chance to lend her voice to the movie, Beda Krishna Ranginata under the guidance of 'V. Manohar'. She stepped in the music industry at a very young age and had marked her presence in the music industry in the past decade. She always had the advantage of being born into a musical family. Her inclination towards music was major because of the fact that she belonged to a family of musicians.

Chaitra made a comeback in the singing industry in the year 2003-04. She sang songs for the movie, Bhagawan. She has recorded over hundreds of songs since then and is known for her melodious voice. She usually performs with her twin brother, 'Chaitanya H G' and her father at these music concerts. She was also a member of Association of Kannada Kootas of America and attended the conference in Chicago in 2008. She has also performed overseas in Dubai, Kuwait, and Chicago. Chaitra charmed everyone who heard her with her beautiful mellifluous voice. She has received several awards including the Special Mention Award for Young Achievers and Udaya TV Kutumba Award for Best Singer. She really is a multi-talented personality who charmed everyone with her singing.
