Deepak Thimmappa

Deepak Thimmappa is a producer and information technology manager based in Bengaluru, Karnataka. He has studied Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science at the VTU, Karnataka. He started his career in July 2006 as a Quality Engineer at the RelQ, Bengaluru, Karnataka. Thereafter, he started working with the Robert Bosch India Limited, Bangalore as a QA Engineer and played a key role as a Global Owner of Test Management Tools. He also led the migration of the test management tool without the support of the vendor and spearheaded the end-to-end test management for many BU’s.

Since 2011, he has been engaged with Amadeus Labs to work as an Information Security Manager. His main responsibility is to monitor Threat Modelling, Security Development Lifecycle, and Qualys tool for vulnerability scans. He also imparts training and awareness sessions on Security & Privacy Topics. As a manager, he has to update the Senior Management on security matters that affect the organizational business on a regular basis as well as facilitate Security Reviews. He also governed the program across the line of business covering dynamic, static, open source, and binary scanning efforts, and managed the integration with vulnerability check tools such as SAST & DAST by using tools like Fortify, Qualys, Black Duck, Checkmarks, Prisma, etc.

Over the time, Deepak has proved his excellence in information security strategy, risk assessments, risk mitigation, and risk identification, along with security architecture, strategic outsourcing & co-sourcing, governance, penetration testing, threat management, and so on. He demonstrated his excellence in monitoring attacks, intrusions, and unauthorized illegal activity by investigating security alerts and providing incident response. However, he has also entered the realm of entertainment business and started to work as a producer in the Sandalwood film industry.
