Anupama Gowda

Anupama Gowda is a Kannada actress and is one of the participants of the famous reality show, Bigg Boss Kannada 5. She was born in a poor family, with her father working as an associate in the film industry and her mother, as a tailor. She also has a sister named, Tejaswini.

Owing to their family situation, she could not continue her studies beyond Grade 6 and had to work with her mother. Gradually, she stepped into the film industry, when she was offered a small part in ‘Lankesh Patrike’ in the year 2003. After that, she participated in the dance show, ‘Halli Duniya’ establishing herself among Kannada audience.

Her serial stints include Akka Akka is being telecast on TV at from Monday to Fri >> Read More... , Akka tangi and Chi Sou Savithri, a family drama. Her dual role in the serial ‘Akka’ was a huge hit among the audience where she played one positive and negative role, being twin sisters. Her soap opera success landed her the lead role in the movie, Nagari(2015), opposite to Vikaas. Directed by Nandish, the story revolves around a brave girl, played by Anupama.

Her popularity rose in spectacular fashion when she was named as one of the celebrity contestants in Bigg Boss Kannada 5.She was also seen appearing in the Kannada web series, Loose connection.

Anupama is lauded by many for overcoming all her childhood struggles and cementing herself as a star in Kannada cinema. She’s also seen as a strong contestant in Bigg Boss Kannada 5 and is one of the favourites to clinch the title.
