Poornima Mohan, now Poornima Indrajith is a dancer, television anchor, actress, model and a fashion designer. She is born to Mohan and Shanthi into a Tamil Pillai family settled in Kerala. She is a recipient of National scholarship for Mohiniyattam when she was studying in her eighth standard. She has made her foray into modelling while studying at St. Teresa's, with national campaigns for BPL mobile, HMT watches and Coconut Development Board. Ad campaigns for V-Star Churidars, Seemati textiles, Bharani Silks and Jayalaksmi Textiles followed.

It was compering that made Poornima a household name. She anchored for the Pepsi Top Ten in Asianet, which gained her popularity and the name `Pepsi Poornima'. Even though she received many offers from films she concentrated on her studies and completed graduation in Mass Communications. She was spotted by the legendry late actor Thilakan and casted her in his serial Paithozhiyathe as his daughter. Her full-fledged title role was in Oomakuyil telecasted in Surya TV, as a girl who is guilty of committing a crime (ragging) during her college days. She shared the screen space with actor Nedumudi venu as her father-in-law. She also appeared in many other serials like Vava, Venalmazha, Olangal and Prayanam in surya TV; Nizhalukal, a fictional horror serial in asianet. She also played an important character in Kolangal, a Tamil serial telecasted in Sun TV.

She appeared in few movies as well, her debut was in Innalegalillathe as Maya in1997. Her notable movies were Multi starrer Mommooty film Valiyettan where she played the innocent girl Lakshmi; in suresh Gopi starrer Randaam Bhavam, one of the two heroines; a supporting actress in Narayanathu thampuran, and a very chirpy bank employee Rekha in Meghamalhar opposite . Her role in Meghamalhar bagged a Kerala state Award for best supporting actress in 2001. After marriage she took a break from the movies for her family, but made a comeback as a host in the popular show Katha Ithuvare, in Mazhavil Manorama. The show involved inviting celebrities and focused their life stories through their dear and near ones, which was a new kind in television. She also hosted its sequel Idavalakalil again in Mazhavil Manorama.

She also appeared in the reality show Vanitha Ratham as a Jury in Amrita Television. She is now well known as a successful Fashion designer and has a boutique named Pranaah in Kochi. She also designs cloths for actresses in Malayalam, Tamil and Bollywood. She had conducted a Fashion show with her collections during the inauguration of her boutique. She is married to actor Indrajit and the couple has two daughters Prarthana and Nakshathra. Famous actress is her mother-in-law and actor Prithviraj is her Brother-in-law. Her father is a practicing lawyer and mother runs a dance school. She has a younger sister , who is also an actress.
