Venugopal Madathil

Venugopal Madathil was born on June 5th, 1966 in Kerala. He is a very popular Malayalam Cinematographer. Lothihadas, Kamal, Rajasenan and much more. He has learned a lot of things while working with these eminent directors. His father was a very distinguished Ayurveda Doctor.

His father’s name is M.N. Paniker, he wanted his son to do engineering, but Venugopal didn’t want to become an engineer. Venugopal opted for engineering, but he loved photography so much that he could not focus on engineering. He used to spend a lot of time in his uncle’s studio and learn many new things. IAB Digital Studio which is at Coimbatore developed a cinematographer in him. During his college time whenever he used to get the time he used to learn many new things related to photography and cinematography. His father was very strict and he was very disturbed because of his son’s attitude because he didn’t want him to get into the film industry.

Later, Venugopal took permission from M.N Paniker (his father) and decided to do Photography course from Chennai. After he had completed his course, his father introduced him to MR. Jayanan Vincent Jayanan Vincent is a veteran Indian cinematographe >> Read More... through one of his friend named M.T Vasydevan Nair. Then MR. Jayanan Vincent appointed Venugopal as his assistant. They did the film Uyaranagalil together. His father passed away when he was new to this industry, this was a very difficult situation for him and therefore, he was shattered and came back home. After a very long time, he returned to the cinema world as M T Vasudevan Nair’s assistant for the film Anubandam. He also worked as a single Cameraman in the film Pournami Rojakkal; this was a Tamil Film. He did Ellarum Chollunnu and this was a great film as this was his first Malayalam film as an Independent Camera person. He also did the film Oh Fabby and got the title for Cinematography which was the biggest achievement of his life.

Even after his father’s death he came back and decided to work hard. Therefore, he got huge success in his career slowly and gradually. He has also shot many love songs like Nammal, Jalolsavam, Meghamalhar and much more and these songs are so wonderful and appealing that the audience still remembers all his creations. He later went into the Telugu film industry as well. He worked very hard in the Telugu films as well and as a result, he won the Bharathamuni award for the film Subapradam for his Cinematography.
