P. T. Kunju Muhammed

P. T. Kunju Muhammed is a producer and director who mainly works in Malayalam industry. His debut film name was Magrib. At the state level, Kunju has won many awards for his contribution to the industry. He was born in Pancharamukku which is near to Chavakkad in Thrissur which is a district in Kerala.

He is also a politician. He went to St. Thomas College which is situated in Thrissur to complete his degree of graduation in mathematics. Kunju Muhammed has produced and directed many movies like Paradeshi which was released in the year 2007, Garshom released in the year 1998, Veeraputhran released in the year 2011, and much more. All these movies were appreciated and had bagged many awards. As a producer, Kunju Muhammed has produced many films like Swaroopam, Aswathamavu, Purushartham, and all these movies are directed by K.R. Mohanan. He has also acted in a movie named “Uppu” directed by Pavithran.

Popular Malayalam channel named “Kairali TV” was co-founded by Kunju Muhammed. A unique program named “Pravasalokam” was presented by him on Kairali TV. After Magrib which was his debut movie, his second film name was Garshom which was released in the year 1998. The movie was produced by P. Jayapala Menon. Music of the film was given by Ramesh Narayan and edited by Venugopal.

The last movie which was directed by him was Paradeshi which released in the year 2007. The movie was produced by Antony Perumbavoor starring Mohanlal, Padmapriya, Lakshmi Gopalaswamy, Shweta Menon, etc. the movie was edited by Don Max. K.G. Jayan was the cinematographer of the film.it was produced under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas. Kunju Muhammed got married to Ayishabi. They both have two children. Their names are Renjith and Rejatha. His debut film “Magrib” was released in the year 1993. It is a story which showed the cultural life of Muslims. He has also received state Award in the category of the best writer for the movie “Garshom.” For a movie named “Paradeshi” which was released in the year 2007, he received Kerala State Film Award in the category of the story writer. He is also a politician of the leftist party. His ideologies of leftist are also reflected in his movies.

His debut film Magrib had Sreenivasan, Murali, Saranya, and V.K. Sreeraman in the lead roles. It was a story about a Muslim family.
