Abhirami Iyer

Abhirami is a classical dancer turned model and TV anchor for a regional channel and a native of Chennai. She is a trained Bharatnatyam dancer, and when she expressed her desire to learn this art, her parents didn’t approve. Finally, her mother approved of her decision, and she enrolled to kalakshetra. She believes dancing is her first love, as there is so much to learn beyond performing on stage.

She didn’t start modeling until she finished her course at Kalakshatra as the institution wanted their students to focus on dance and nothing else. Someone suggested the actress to work in ad films. She got her first commercial after leaving the dance school, and after that, she was part of many ad films. She has won the Miss Tamil Nadu 2017 contest. After winning the pageant, she has attended many functions as a chief guest. The dancer has walked the ramp with Karun, and she believes she is lucky to get that opportunity. She has worked for Kalamkari, Kalyan Jewellers, and others.

She has done bridal shoots for Chennai Silks. She also judged a show It Stars which focused on singing, dancing, music, comedy, mime, mimicry, and tons of fun. She played the lead in a musical video Love Me Lovely Lady by A Madras Meter Musical. She loves to do ramp walks. In October, she became part of Azhaghiya Tamil Magal. It’s a contest where the participants get a platform to showcase their talent and culture. Abhirami was a participant, and she was excited for the same. The show pivots around the monotonous lives of everyday IT employees who are working in a software firm. The pilot launched in June 2016. The dancer portrays the role of an infuriated narrator.
