Divyang Thakkar

Divyang Thakkar is an Indian actor who has worked in movies like Bey Yaar (2014), Kevi Rite Jaish (2012), Chanakya Speaks (2012), Khatti Meethi Setting (2016) and a web show, Boygiri Story Soon >> Read More... (2017). Divyang is known to the audience as the sweet spoken Gujarati actor.

Divyang has worked in many Gujarati TV shows and theatre. After establishing himself in the TV biZ, he moved on to the big silver screen. Divyang says he wanted to follow the trend of doing a local Gujarati film first instead of going into Bollywood directly. Divyang says he is vehement about acting and that he welcomes positive opportunities.

His obsession for acting started when he was young and used to watch plays with his family. That is when he dreamt of becoming an actor. He wanted to do something to protrude from the mass. The film is a mockery on the attraction and fascination of a Gujarati family of ‘Patels’ who migrated to the U.S. After this Divyang appeared in a historical movie ‘Chanakya Speaks’ playing the role of a young Business Executive.

The film is about Divyang who works hard to find and discover Chanakya’s teachings. In August 2014 his movie “Bey Yaar” was released, which was received positively by the critiques and the audiences. It is the only Gujarati film to be screened at the New York Film Festival.

The film is about the companionship between two close friends directed by Abhishek Jain. The Gujarati film also screened in theatres for fifty weeks and did a business of 8.5 Crores. Moreover, Bey Yaar bagged several awards at 14th Gujarati Stage and Screen awards including Best Director and Best Film.
