Sethu G. Pillai is a South Indian film actor and a successful entrepreneur. He was born in Mavelikara, a small taluka in Alappuzha of Kerala. Currently, he is living in Dubai (UAE). His birth date is 13th March, and Star Sign is Pieces. People also call Sethu by is other name, Myna Sethu. He is a Malayalee by birth but, started his career in Tamil cinema. Sethu is famous for his roles in movies like
100 Degree Celsius, Manadhil Maayam Seidhai, Prema Khaidi, and many more. He is the manufacturer, and retailer in the garment industry, and a very successful businessman. Sethu recently stepped into production, he produced flick like Karuppusamy Kuththagaithaarar, and Kokki .
He is nature lover, and enjoys traveling to different places. Sethu says that he is an actor by accident. He had no intention of being an actor, and was focusing on his garment exportation, and later moved on to manufacturing of food products. Then something from the film industry fascinated him, and he debuted with the Tamil movie '
Mynaa;' it released on 5th November 2010, produced by
John Max, and directed by
Prabhu Solomon. 'Mynaa' made the career of many artists in the Tollywood, all the members of this film achieved fame and prosperity. Sethu played the lead role of a policeman, DSP Bhaskar. He took a long break after the success of Mynaa and got back to his business.
Film-makers offered him several roles but all of them were offering usual cop-like characters. Eventually, he accepted his first Malayalam film '
Thank You' in (2013), and did the role of Dev Menon (a cop). After the huge gap, Sethu acted in back to back projects. In 2014, he played the character of Jai in the Telugu flick, 'Manadhil Maayam Seidhai' (MMS). It is a bilingual film, and was also released in Tamil language as 'Manasuna Maya Seyake.' The music album of the Tamil version was a super hit, all songs being in the top 10 of the respective year. Mynaa Sethu appeared in the notable Malayalam movie '100 Degree Celsius' by director Rakesh Gopan, which released on 10th October 2014.
In the following year, he participated in the action thriller flick 'Kadavul Paathi Mirugam Paathi (2015). He also appeared in movies like 'Rahadari,' and 'Prema Khaidi' (dubbed version of Mynaa). He enjoys his work but thinks that Tamil films offer more opportunities than any other film industry. Pillai does not smoke, but he did smoke a cigarette for a movie; this shows his passion for his profession. Recently, he inaugurated his new business by the name 'Kayal Grandeur.' He is the owner of a very well-doing international trade. He has been successful as an entrepreneur as well as an actor. In the upcoming projects, we would also see him as a producer.
