Sudev Nair is an actor well known for his award-winning performance in the Malayalam film, ‘
My Life Partner’. He was born on 14th April 1985 in Mumbai in the state of Maharashtra. He completed primary education from Sulochanadevi Singhania High School in Thane. He did his higher secondary education from V. G. Vaze College of Arts Science and Commerce situated in Mulund, Maharashtra.
Later he pursued graduation in Computer Science and got a Bachelor’s degree from Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) located at Nagpur in the year 2007. Afterwards, he decided to pursue post graduation from the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune in Acting. Sudev is a mixture of art and combat both in western and classical styles.
Freestyle running or parkour and break dancing are a few of the western style arts in which he is trained in. During his stay at the Film Institute in Pune, SPIC MACAY awarded Sudev with a scholarship where he had the opportunity to train under The Kerala Kalamandalam in the classical South Indian dance form of Kathakali.
When it comes to combat, Sudev is well versed in Judo, Boxing and the South Indian combat art form of Kalari Payattu. To top it all off, in the year 2001, Sudev won a Bronze Medal for High Jump from the National Games at the under 16 category. His career in film kicked off by signing with director
Soumik Sen for his 2014 release, Gulaab Gang.
Sudev had the opportunity to appear alongside stars such as
Madhuri Dixit and
Juhi Chawla. Debutant director M B Padmakumar approached Sudev to star in his first film, My Life Partner. The movie involved the relationship between two men and was subject to a row of controversy and criticism. Due to the movie’s controversial nature, it faced a row of problems with its release. Sudev, who carried out the character of 'Kiran, ’ won the award for Best Actor at the Kerala State Film Award in 2014.
