Deepa Nair

Deepa Nair is a movie actress known for her appearance in a few Malayalam movies. She was born on 9th December in 1979 in Trivandrum, Kerala. Deepa did her graduation in engineering at Sree Chitra Thirunal College of Engineering, affiliated with the University of Kerala in Thiruvananthapuram. Apart from her stint in movies, she has also hosted many television programs on Malayalam channels like Asianet. Deepa made her acting debut in the super hit movie Priyam, directed by Vasudev Sanal.

She didn’t want to sacrifice her studies for the sake of the film career. In many interviews, she has often revealed that her father, Gopalakrishnan, wasn’t permitting her to join the film industry as he wanted her to concentrate on her studies.

Even though Deepa was a trained classical dancer, she found it difficult to cope with the fast filmy numbers. Soon after Priyam’s hit, Deepa got many offers from Malayalam and Tamil industries, but her intense passion for engineering deterred her from continuing in films. Just after graduation, Deepa got campus placement in Infosys.

Deepa had got many offers from Tamil films for glamorous roles, but the actress had turned down such offers as she was interested in doing significant movie roles with substance.
