Mayoori

Born in 1983, Shalini or also known by the name of Mayoori was a renowned South Indian/Mollywood Actress who worked in Malayalam, Kannada, and Tamil movies. She was most famous for her appearance in the film “whistle,” released in 2003. Not only this, some of her other predominant works include films such as “summer in Bethlehem,” “Aakasha Ganga (1 and 2)”, “Prem Poojari,” and “Sarvabhouma.”

Unfortunately, after being a part of around 20 films, she committed suicide in 2005 at 22years. Her director said that she was a sensitive girl, and Rumour had it that her suicide note stated she didn’t want to live anymore and was facing issues in her personal and professional life, which further led to her demise.

Mayoori is known by the name Shalini in the Tamil film industry. She was a popular south Indian actress who was highly appreciated for her performance in various Malayalam and Tamil movies.

Born in 1983, this actress belongs to Kolkata, West Bengal. She spent her school days in Bangalore and studied over there in the Ethiraj College from where she got a graduation degree in Arts (economics).

She always had an interest in studying law but could not pursue it due to her engagement in acting in the later years.

Mayoori stepped into the Malayalam film industry with the movie ‘summer in Bethlehem’ released in 1998. After that, she continued proving to the people criticizing her negatively that she had the potential to survive in the industry on the mere basis of her talent and skills. Her movies ‘Neela, whistle, and Manmadhan’ were the witnesses that she was exceptionally talented. She did 12 Tamil and Malayalam movies in total before she committed suicide in 2005 at the age of 22. A note was found from her room beside her dead body with the words engraved that ‘I lost faith in life.’This was a shock for the entire film industry to lose an actress who stunned everyone through her silent facial expressions in the movie ‘Sarvabhoma’.

The actress had also been into various television commercials and modeling apart from the movies. She never considered acting as a full-time profession. She did it only out of interest. She was never seen taking an interest in award shows but always gave her best performance.
