Soumya Ramakrishnan

Soumya Ramakrishnan, a famous Malayalam playback singer, was born in Ernakulam in a musical family. She was born on 21st July 1984. Soumya is very much interested in singing right from her childhood. After her schooling in Ernakulam, she joined St. Teresa’s College and completed her graduation in Botany. She did her Master of Business Management in TKM Institute of Management in Kollam. She had been concentrating on her studies and vocals. After completing her post graduation in management, Soumya Ramakrishnan joined the famous corporate company, Xerox Services in Inforpark Ernakulam as a recruiter. Soumya got an opportunity to start her career as a singer with the support of “Bijibal.” Her first jingle was for Lunar Footwears.

She has sung the jingles for the popular FM Station Club FM 94.3. The station anthem, Mazhathum Veylathum is sung by Soumya. She has rendered her voice for Media One, a visual media for the song Nilakkatha Jeevathalam. Dhathri products Ad comes with the sweetest voice of Soumya. She made her debut in Malayalam film industry with “Arabikadha.” Bijibal, who introduced her through his jingles, made her to debut in the cinema with Thane Paadum Veene song in Arabikadha.

Her song Vakkinullile from the film, “Ozhimuri,” helmed by Madhupal is one of the best renditions of Soumya. Although there is a high competition in the playback singing, Soumya feels glad that she had rendered good numbers. Soumya says that she sings for her passion and works in the corporate sector for her financial needs. She also thanks her higher officials, who have given her permission to carry out her passion.
