Sadanandan Rangorath

Sadanandan Rangorath is a well-known film producer and businessman in the Malayalam movie industry. He is the producer of a famous Malayalam movie- Salt N’ Pepper which was directed by Aashiq Abu Aashiq Abu known for his work in Malayalam Cinema, >> Read More... . This movie was successful in winning many awards. Rangorath was born on July 14th 1980 in Kallengode, Palakkad (Kerala).

He did his schooling at Muslim Higher Secondary School, Pudunagaram, Palakkad. He took up a Diploma in mechanical Engineering at Government Polytechnic Palakkad. Sadanandan worked for some time with several companies such as, Wipro and Crompton and Greaves. Thereafter he got a job at Mumbai and went there to earn his living.

It was in Mumbai that he started Vesta Engineering which later diversified, into various fields like the oil and gas drilling and exploration, power generation, hospitality and real estate. This company was started in 2003 and Rangorath and his partner invested 5000 rupees each into the business. This company operated in six countries and was known as the Vesta group with seven verticals. It deals with solar power generators and windmills.

Lucsam Services Private Limited was his second venture which expanded into six countries and also to Indonesia. Lucsam Creation is an enterprise in the field of entertainment or film production and distribution. This venture successfully produced the Malayalam movie Salt N’ Pepper which received numerous awards.

Sadanandan also produced the movie Nidra directed by Sidharth Bharatan. His company is recognised not only for the output given by them but also for the aesthetic value, presentation, ideas and quality. The producer was once, accused of cheating an amount of 4 lakhs. Sadanandan took 45 minutes to take a decision on producing the film-Salt N’ Pepper, and he also bagged the iconic producer of the year award from international film awards Dubai.

The film was also given the Kerala State Award in the Popular Movie category. He was also the director of the film Kautilyan. Sadanandan confessed that he is fond of watching films and watches movies made in different countries (such as Iranian, Italian and Spanish films) with subtitles. The producer also revealed that his movie Salt N’ Pepper did not get good responses in the beginning. The film was released in over 42 theatres and from one theatre the revenue was only rupees 80.
