Dharmakirti Sumant, a recent UEA graduate, wrote the script for the Hindi-language feature film CRD. It was first made available on Netflix with English subtitles recently after being released in Los Angeles in 2016 and India in 2017. With financial assistance from an INLAKS international fellowship, Dharmakirti completed her MA in Creative Writing (Scriptwriting) in 2018.

Dharmakirti Sumant is one of the few acclaimed storytellers in the Marathi Theatre arena. Sumant has completed his degree in screenwriting from FTII. He has been a part of the experimental theatre plays for almost a decade. He debuted with the Marathi film 'Maunraag' in 2013 premiered at the 'Mumbai International Film Festival.' Dharmakirti has been awarded the 'Sahitya Academy Youth Award' for his book 'Pani.' In 2016, Sumant worked on another independent project named 'CRD' shot by an Oscar-winning cinematographer 'Daniel Katz.' The film will feature in London and Stuttgart film festivals.
