Subash Gujarel is a well-known actor, director, and producer in Indian cinema. He primarily works in the Nepal films and entertainment industry. Subash debuted as a director with the film Maya Baiguni in 2001. It was an action drama written by Bijaya Shrestha. He is the director and producer of the film Basain, released in 2005. Subash directed a short animation movie, Yesarinai Aalu Pulchha, in 2011. He played the character of Salikram Luitel in 2022. It was a comedy film directed by Prabesh Poudel. His film, Basain, became the first Nepali movie to officially enter the 79th Academy Awards in the foreign-language film category.
