Amiya Patnaik, also named Amiya Ranjan Patnaik, is an Indian filmmaker, producer, and playwright who works in the Odia film Industry. His directorial debut was Mamata Mage Mula in 1985. This movie was his first movie as a producer. In 1985, Amiya received a National Award for Best Feature Film in the Odia Category for Hakim Babu. In 2015, Patnaik decided to be in his director position. He directed Tulasi Apa and received State Film Awards in all six categories, including Best Director and Best Film Award.

Tulasi Apa was about the veteran social activist and Padma Shri awardee Tulasi Munda, which was released in all the theatres in 2017. Some films of Amiya Patnaik include Pua Mora Kala Thakura in 1988, Chaka Akhi Sabu Dekhuchi in 1990, and Asuchi Mo Kalia Suna in 1991.
