Bekal Amritsari is an Indian poet, director, writer, and songwriter. He was born on 16 April 1917 in Amritsar. His real name was Baldev Chander Arora, he named himself Bekal which means restless. He started writing when he was a child. He is the nephew of legendary Punjabi poet, Dhani Ram Chatrik. He has also written fiery and nationalist poetry. He was also given the title of Stage da Maalik.
