Shaikh Abdul Hameed was a Pakistani Film Score Composer and Music Director who was born in 1924 in Amritsar, British India. He started his career in Bombay Cinema and later he started working in Lollywood (Pakistani, Urdu, and Punjabi film Industry). He initially worked with Ghulam Haider as a Pianist. The first Pakistani Film he directed was ‘Anjaam’ (1957), but he mainly got recognition in the Pakistani Film industry as a music composer. He was a music composer for the films ‘Anjaam’, ‘ Saheli Story Coming Soon >> Read More... ’, ‘Aulad’, ‘Susraal’, ‘Gharnata’, ‘Yeh Aman’, ‘Awaz’, and ‘Naya Andaz’. His family migrated to Pakistan following the partition in 1947. He started working as a Composer in Pakistani films. His first hit song was in 1960 in the film ‘Raat Ke Rahi’ and in that same year, another popular film ‘Saheli’ gained him a lot of fame as a music composer. Some of his famous songs are ‘Naam le le ke tera hum to jiye jaen ge’, ‘Tum mile pyar mila ab koi armaan nahin’, ‘Na milta gar ye tauba ka sahaara hum kahaan jaate’, and ‘O re sanam sil yeh kaise bataye’.
