Hemal Ranasinghe

Hemal Ranasinghe is a renowned actor, model, dancer and TV host. He was born on August 25, 1984, in Sri Lanka. He attended St Thomas College, Matale and is trained in martial arts. He has, since then, appeared in critically acclaimed movies like Pravegaya and Adaraneeya Kathawak. Hemal has had a successful career as a model as well. He has walked for major fashion houses in the Colombo Fashion Week and Sri Lanka Design Festival.

In 2011 he participated in Swarnavahini Dance Stars Dance and was first runners up in the competition. Furthermore, Hemal has also participated in international pageants. He competed in Spain's The Model of the World in 2009 and secured the title of Male Model of the World in 2009. He also won Mr Sri Lanka in the following year in Korea. His efforts have been recognised and awarded throughout his career. In 2015 he received the Special Jury Award at the Sarasaviya Awardsand and the Most Popular Actor at the Derana Film Awards and Hiru Awards. Hemal Ranasinghe is one of Sri Lanka's most successful contemporary personalities.
